Down the Broom

Here is the Down the Broom reel in A minor. This is a common session tune that is somewhat new to me.

Down the Broom is commonly played with the Gatehouse Maid. Here is a great version of both from a live recording at Lowry’s. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Z8qiDsOKhc&list=PLHbbXMmlAW4VI6n0jIDQiw8D6D5CkW70h&index=4

Try learning the tune by ear with this recording. Helpful hint: You can use the youtube playback options to slow the recording down and make it easier to learn. Hit the gear icon and look for the playback option.
